KWF

This is what we are committed to with your help
1 in 2 Dutch people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. Cancer affects us all. Whether you have it yourself or someone you care about, cancer disrupts your life.

Fortunately, we are getting better at treating the disease. Today, the 5-year survival rate is already 67%! When we were founded in 1949, it was only 25%.

This is made possible by all our donors, volunteers and campaigners. Thank you! Together, we have been making a difference for millions of people for nearly 75 years.

What we want to achieve
KWF is against cancer. But above all, we are for life. So that everyone can live life to the fullest. Whether you have cancer, have been cured of cancer, know someone close to you with cancer, are no longer getting better or want to know what you yourself can do to prevent cancer.

With your help, we make cancer research, care and support possible for everyone touched by cancer. Our goals:

prevent cancer where we know we can
promote better treatment of all forms of cancer
a better quality of life for (former) cancer patients and their loved ones
to do everything we can to ensure that cancer patients are surrounded by good care in the final phase of their lives.
New challenges
Thanks to scientific research, we understand cancer better and better. And (early) detection and treatment have improved. But more knowledge and a better chance of survival also present new challenges. Because how do we ensure:

for a good quality of life for the growing number of people who have (had) cancer?
that patients with a rare form of cancer also receive better treatments?
That medicines are accessible and affordable for everyone?
and, if prevention is better than cure, how can we best prevent cancer?
Together, we make a difference. For a better life with and after cancer.
KWF. Against cancer. For life.
